How to Diagnose Chikungunya ?
Blood test for Chikungunya

ELISA : Chikungunya can be easily diagnosed by a blood test known as ELISA (Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays) for IgM and IgG anti-chikungunya antibodies. This test helps to distinguish Chikungunya from Dengue. This test is more accurate if done after 10-12 days or more.
RT-PCR : (Reverse transcriptase- polymerase chain reaction) This blood test can be done only for earlier detection of Chikungunya virus in blood say upto 4-5 days of infection.
Haemogram : It ia always a good idea to go for routine blood investigation like Hb, TLC, DLC, ESR, Platelet Count etc.
